On 4 June this years winner in Klinnovation 2015 were announced. With the title ”Compartment Model Based Estimation of Myocardial Blood Flow using Dynamic N-13 Ammonia PET” John Heerford Sjökvist and Mattias Albinsson claimed first prize including 10 000 SEK awarded from Lund University Innovation Systems. Carl Grenvall defended his doctor's thesis, Acoustic Forces in Cytometry and Biomedical Applications: Multidimensional Acosutophoresis, on 5 December 2014 with honors and was given the doctors insignia at the promovation on 29 May 2015.
Per Augustsson postdoctor at BME and Massachusetts Institute of Technology has received 150000 SEK from the Sten K Johnsson foundation for a project aiming at measuring the acoustic properties of individual cells. The Swedish Research Council has assigned Magnus Cinthio and Leif Sörnmo, both researchers at Department of Biomedical Engineering, to be members of the panel reviewing this year's grant applications in the area of biomedical engineering. Magnus has been member of this review panel for several years, and Leif is the chairman of the panel this year.
