Isabella Silva Barreto was awarded runner up for Best Doctoral Thesis in Biomechanics at the European Society of Biomechanics' annual meeting in Edinburgh in July 2024. Isabella's thesis was entitled Synchrotron-based characterization of mechanobiological effects on the nanoscale in musculoskeletal tissues.
Isabella Silva Barreto was awarded a SEK 3 900 scholarship from Oscar II scholarship fund for Best Thesis from LTH in 2023, Synchrotron-based characterization of mechanobiological effects on the nanoscale in musculoskeletal tissues.
In a collaboration between Department of Biomedical Engineering, LTH, Clinical Sciences, Malmö, LU, and Region Skåne; Magnus Cinthio, Isabel Goncalves, and Tobias Erlöv have been awarded MSEK 3 during 2024-2025 for the project "Novel ultrasound-based method to detect atherosclerotic plaques that cause strokes and heart attacks".
