– Published 14 September 2017

György Marko-Varga, professor at Biomedical Engineering at Lund University, has just been appointed to lead a research team as a part of the American Cancer Moonshot project.

After loosing his son to cancer two years ago, Joe Biden initiated an ambitious project to battle cancer. Just like the Kennedy administration put a man on the moon, the Obama administration wanted to approach one of the greatest challenges in medicine today - cancer.

Prof. Marko-Varga says he's humbled by the task at hand. The goal is for the research to establish better diagnostic tools and treatments which will help all patients.
