The attention was raised following the publication of a scientific publication in The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America on a new signal processing method that Josefin Starkhammar and her collaborative partners Maria Sandsten and Isabella Reinhold at the Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Lund University has developed.  The method enables a more detailed analysis of the echolocation beam of dolphins. – Hopefully, this signal processing method might also become useful in other pulse-echo based research areas, like ultrasound imaging and non-destructive testing, Josefin says.”
