- Functional imaging of bone to improve osteoporosis diagnostics

PI: Hanna Isaksson

This is the project I am mainly involved in as a PhD student. My role is to develop reliable subject-specific FE models of human femora aimed at predicting bone strength and, ultimately, fracture risk for individuals. During the FE modelling phase I also have to design and execute proper experimental benchmarks for FE model validation.

- Modelling of stress fractures in long bones

PI: Hanna Isaksson

Within this project I am mainly in charge of supervising the different Master students involved in it. My supervising activity is related to the technical aspects of modelling stress fractures with the FE method, and to the development of a multi-scale framework for the investigation of the interfragmentary strains inside the crack zone.
