Biography

Dr. Christian Antfolk is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Lund University. He received the B.Eng. degree in information technology and telecommunication from Arcada Polytechnic, Espoo, Finland, in 2002, and the M.Sc. degree in system level integration from the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, U.K., in 2003. He received his PhD in 2012 with his thesis “On Sensory Feedback in Hand Prostheses” from the Department of Measurement Technology and Industrial Electrical Engineering at Lund University. He worked as an Electronics Engineer at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland between 2000 and 2002 and as an Application Engineer for Wärtsilä, Helsinki, Finland, between 2004 and 2007. His research interests include sensory feedback in prosthetic hands, non-invasive bi-directional interfaces for neural engineering, myoelectric control of artificial hands and biosignals acquisition and processing. He has authored 19 journal papers, more than 20 conference proceedings and abstracts and filed for one patent. Dr Antfolk is a Senior Member of IEEE.
