Biofabrication for Tissue Engineering and Microbiome Studies 

Presenter: Professor Ali Ahmadi, École de technologie supérieure, Montreal, Canada  

On September 19th Professor Ali Ahmadi from École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) in Montreal, Canada, and visiting the Antfolk group at the Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, Lund University, will give a presentation on his research involving Biofabrication for Tissue Engineering and Microbiome Studies.

Ali Ahmadi is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) in Montreal, Canada, and co-director of the Biomaterials and Biofabrication Laboratory at the University of Montreal Hospital Research Center (CRCHUM). His research focuses on biofabrication and microfabrication for biomedical applications. He is currently the President of the Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineers and his recognitions include the Engineers PEI Young Engineer of the Year award and the Lévesque Research Chair in Nutritional Sciences and Health. In this talk, he will present his work on peptide-based foams for bioprinting and the microencapsulation of GI bacteria for microbiome research.
